Highlands First Aid COVID-19 RISK ASSESSMENT POLICY:
Teaching:
- Participants will be informed on what to expect when arriving for, and during the course to be now included on our joining email, and on our web site booking page
- Contact surfaces disinfected before course
- Signage on the door to the room stating conditions of entry
- Temperature check upon entry via a thermal thermometer. Any participants that have a temperature of over 37.5°, or have a cough / cold, will be denied entry with an offer of a refund, or re booking when they are well
- Hand sanitiser containing 75% alcohol to be used on entry to the room
- Hand sanitisers containing 75% alcohol to be available at different points of the room
- Seating in the room to be set up obeying the required distancing rules of (at this stage) 1.5 metres
- Continued use of single use disposable face shields during CPR on manikins, that we have always used
- Replacing the wipes that are currently used for manikin sterilisation between participants use to wipes containing 75% alcohol
- Use of single use disposable medical gloves, and face masks when completing “hands on” scenarios. These will be disposed of in a bag that Highlands First Aid will remove from the premises at the end of the course.

- All Highlands First Aid instructors have completed the Australian Government Covid-19 Infection control training
- Highlands First Aid have a robust reporting procedures in place
Events First Aid coverage:
- All our Events staff have full PPE, including sanitiser, masks, gowns, and eye wear
- 75% alcohol anti bacterial wipes are used for full clean down between patients
- All equipment is sterilised at our base before going out on a job, and again upon return
- All Highlands First Aid Paramedics, and First Responders have completed the Australian Government Covid-19 Infection control training
- Highlands First Aid have a robust reporting procedures in place
